WHAT CAN I DO TO PROTECT MYSELF AND MY PET? Follow the advice from the World Health Organization: Maintain social distancing Wash your hands frequently Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or elbow when you cough or sneeze CAN MY PET CATCH CORONAVIRUS? The chance of your dog catching Coronavirus disease is very remote as there are very few cases of pets catching the disease world-wide. CAN I CATCH CORONAVIRUS FROM MY PET? Several dogs ad cats have tested positive to COVID-19 virus following close contact with infected humans. There is no need to stop contact with your pet unless you are sick. WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY PET IF I GET SICK? Take extra care around your dog. Wash your hands before and after touching your dog. If possible, isolate yourself from your dog.. HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR A LOCKDOWN? To safeguard your pet’s well-being during a lockdown, you should make sure: All your pets vaccinations are current You’ve checked your pet for any lumps or bumps that need to be seen by your vet You have enough pet medications and treatments You also have enough pet food to last for an extended period WHAT IF MY PET NEEDS TO SEE THE VET?
